What Is a Hand Tufted Rug?

A hand tufted rug is made by pushing yarn through a backing cloth with a hand-held tufting tool, loop by loop. Our artisans then cut and carve the loops to shape the design and add a backing for strength. The result is a soft, plush pile with crisp, sculpted shapes that bring texture and depth to any floor.

How Our Made-to-Order Process Works

  1. Choose your design and size: pick a standard size or enter your own with Custom size.
  2. Approve your design preview: we email it within 1–3 business days, and nothing is made until you approve it.
  3. Hand tufting: about 4–5 weeks in our own production department in Pakistan.
  4. Tracked delivery: usually 6–8 weeks from your order, with flat-rate shipping per order. See our shipping policy.

What is a hand tufted rug?

A hand tufted rug is made by pushing yarn through a backing cloth with a hand-held tufting tool. Our artisans then cut and carve the pile to shape the design and add a backing for strength, giving a soft, plush rug with crisp, sculpted details.

What sizes do your hand tufted rugs come in?

Every rug comes in 11 standard sizes from 2×3 ft to 12×15 ft, plus a custom size option. Prices start at $99 for 2×3 ft.

How long does a made-to-order rug take?

About 6–8 weeks in total. We email your design preview within 1–3 business days, tuft and finish your rug in 4–5 weeks after you approve it, then ship it by tracked courier (about 2 weeks to the USA, 2–3 weeks elsewhere).

Can I change the colours of a design?

Yes. Use Customize This Rug on any product, or email etuftedrugs@gmail.com with your colours. You will see them in your design preview, and nothing is made until you approve it.

How much is shipping?

One flat rate per order: USA Standard $65 or Rush $85, and international Standard $100 or Rush $190. Every rug ships by tracked courier. Import duties or taxes, including in the USA, are paid by the customer.

Can I cancel or return a rug?

You can cancel for a full refund within 48 hours of ordering. Because every rug is made for you, change-of-mind returns are not accepted. If your rug arrives damaged or different from your approved design, we will work with you on a resolution. See our refund and returns policy for details.
