Shaped, Wavy and Free-Form Rugs

Many of our abstract rugs are hand cut into scalloped, wavy or irregular shapes that follow the design. Shaped rugs are measured across their widest points, so a 6×9 ft rug is 6 ft wide and 9 ft long at its widest.

Retro and Contemporary Colours

Choose warm rust and terracotta, mustard yellow, deep teal, coastal blue, crimson, charcoal and soft cream. Want a design in different colours? Email us before ordering and we will show them in your design preview.

How Our Made-to-Order Process Works

  1. Choose your design and size: pick a standard size or enter your own with Custom size.
  2. Approve your design preview: we email it within 1–3 business days, and nothing is made until you approve it.
  3. Hand tufting: about 4–5 weeks in our own production department in Pakistan.
  4. Tracked delivery: usually 6–8 weeks from your order, with flat-rate shipping per order. See our shipping policy.

What are abstract rugs?

Abstract rugs use shapes, lines and colour rather than traditional patterns. Ours include wavy, scalloped and free-form designs, often hand cut so the edge follows the design.

How are shaped abstract rugs measured?

Shaped rugs are measured across their widest points, so a 6×9 ft rug is 6 ft wide and 9 ft long at its widest. Because the edge curves, it covers slightly less floor than a rectangle of the same size.

Which rooms suit an abstract rug?

Abstract rugs work as a statement piece in living rooms, as a playful accent in entryways and reading corners, and as a pop of colour in bedrooms and kids' rooms.

Can I change the colours of a design?

Yes. Use Customize This Rug on any product, or email etuftedrugs@gmail.com with your colours. You will see them in your design preview, and nothing is made until you approve it.

How long does a made-to-order rug take?

About 6–8 weeks in total. We email your design preview within 1–3 business days, tuft and finish your rug in 4–5 weeks after you approve it, then ship it by tracked courier (about 2 weeks to the USA, 2–3 weeks elsewhere).

Can I cancel or return a rug?

You can cancel for a full refund within 48 hours of ordering. Because every rug is made for you, change-of-mind returns are not accepted. If your rug arrives damaged or different from your approved design, we will work with you on a resolution. See our refund and returns policy for details.
