Dining Room Rug Size Guide

Allow about 24 inches of rug beyond the table on every side, so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.

  • Round table for 4: 8×10 ft, or a custom square of about 8×8 ft.
  • Rectangular table for 4–6: 8×10 ft.
  • Table for 6–8: 9×12 ft.
  • Table for 8–10: 10×14 ft or 12×15 ft.

Easy Care Under the Dining Table

  2. Approve your design preview: we email it within 1–3 business days, and nothing is made until you approve it.
  3. Hand tufting: about 4–5 weeks in our own production department in Pakistan.

What size rug goes under a dining table?

Choose a rug that reaches about 24 inches past the table on every side, so chairs stay on it when pulled out. That is usually 8×10 ft for a table for 4–6 and 9×12 ft for 6–8.

What size rug suits a round dining table?

For a round table for four, an 8×10 ft rug or a custom square of about 8×8 ft gives the chairs enough room. Measure the table, then add about 4 ft to each side's total width.

Is a tufted rug practical under a dining table?

Yes, with simple care. Blot spills straight away with a damp cloth, shake out or vacuum crumbs regularly, and use a rug pad so the rug stays in place when chairs move.

How long does a made-to-order rug take?

About 6–8 weeks in total. We email your design preview within 1–3 business days, tuft and finish your rug in 4–5 weeks after you approve it, then ship it by tracked courier (about 2 weeks to the USA, 2–3 weeks elsewhere).

Can I change the colours of a design?

Yes. Use Customize This Rug on any product, or email etuftedrugs@gmail.com with your colours. You will see them in your design preview, and nothing is made until you approve it.

Can I cancel or return a rug?

You can cancel for a full refund within 48 hours of ordering. Because every rug is made for you, change-of-mind returns are not accepted. If your rug arrives damaged or different from your approved design, we will work with you on a resolution. See our refund and returns policy for details.
